The fifth is a challenging year at St. Paul Education Center, but a great year of learning and growth. The students focus on improving study habits, organization skills and becoming detailed readers.

The fifth grade studies a wide range of areas. The curriculum includes:

• Religion- the seven sacraments
• English- using parts of speech correctly while integrating it into improving writing skills
• Social Studies- the early Americas and its colonization by the Europeans
• Math- sequencing, multiplication, division and fractions
• Science- life Science, Physical Science, and Earth Science
• Reading- various genres

The fifth grade is mainly a self-contained classroom but the children do travel for Physical Education, Library, Spanish, and Art.
